Pipe Up for Planned Parenthood
As if we don’t have enough to worry about…the polluting (not to mention culturally assaultive) pipeline, the ACA debacle, polar bears in search of ice. It can all seem overwhelming, which is why the push is on for regional involvement and taking the reins back one step, one neighborhood, one village at a time.
The Republicans’ failure to find support for their ACA replacement gives Planned Parenthood a moment of breathing room—the bill would have pulled their federal funding for a year—but this is no time for any of us to relax.
There are still plenty in Washington who want to overturn Roe v Wade, and Planned Parenthood is still a ripe target for a regime looking for more defense dollars. Yes, unbelievably, it’s 2017 and we’re still fighting not to have a bunch of strangers in suits make our most intimate healthcare decisions. Time for more saber rattling.
